Responsibilities:

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and recommend adequate risk management strategies to proactively control and minimize negative impacts stemming from operational risk.
  • Driving cross-functional problem-solving sessions to understand root causes and propose remediation plans.
  • Educating and raising awareness of operational risk will form a core element of the role, including timely reviews and continuous evolution of the operational risk framework (policies, processes, incident database, reporting)
  • Managing the product risk assessment framework and performing independent cross-functional assessments for new products or business initiatives
  • Daily follow up and evaluation of reported incidents in the Operational Risk Incident Database
  • Review and facilitates communication and workflow between the DORO and the incident reporter until the report is found to be complete and accurate, whereupon the Manager flags the report as closed
  • Improve, develop and update related reports for trends analysis, KPI measurement and escalation
  • Consolidation, administration and reporting of the WUIB loss collection, accounting reconciliation and mitigation status
  • Maintain Operational Risk incident database
  • Perform annual review of all registered Operational Risk incidents (using all available sources), identify commonalities in root causes, recommend or drive necessary remediation actions
  • Participate in qualitative assessments or providing support for assessment
  • Drive cross-functional problem-solving sessions to understand root causes and drive remediation plans for most frequent / high risk Operational Risk events
  • Daily follow up and evaluation of reported incidents in the Operational Risk Incident Database
  • Review and facilitates communication and workflow between the DORO and the incident reporter
  • Improve, develop and update related reports for trends analysis, KPI measurement and escalation

Role Requirements

  • A university degree in Finance or Business (or equivalent) or Law or relevant professional qualifications
  • Experience in Risk Management in a banking or financial services environment
  • Kknowledge of relevant banking regulation, especially CRR, relevant technical guidelines on Operational Risk management, PSD2
  • Profound knowledge of banking operations, functions, products and processes
  • Persistent in problem solving, focused on problem solutions and not problems itself
  • Shows high level of team spirit and able to effectively collaborate across organisation
  • Ability to transform operational activities and result into strategic messages that supports decision making
  • Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence, and convince others, in particular colleagues in other business areas
  • Driving change and innovation by managing risk “path-to-green” processes and risk treatment plans
  • Providing risk advice and guidance which may include leading on risk initiatives, RCSA, providing oversight on projects, change programmes and ad-hoc pieces of work
  • Proactively problem solving, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day
  • Be able to identify complex areas of operational risk, including proven track record of dealing with change, technology, operational and 3rd party risks
  • Analytical skills – able to analyse and interpret key facts across a spectrum of data sources, providing stakeholders with clear and concise recommendations and reports
  • Confidently develops trusted relationships with peers and senior stakeholders
  • Able to work autonomously and to plan and adapt quickly to changes in priorities
  • High energy, enthusiastic, strong persuasive communicator and can-do mindset,
  • Fluency in English, German nice to have
