About Us
Cannabis Co-Pack (CCP) is one of Canada’s only dedicated contract packagers of cannabis products. We service some of Canada’s most well-known cannabis brands as clients. Our services allow cultivators to focus on growing premium flower by leaving the packaging and logistics to us.
Job Summary
The Packaging Team Lead is responsible for working with teams on jobs such as de-stemming, milling, and general processing of dry flower as well as weighing, rolling, packaging, labelling and preparing finished goods cannabis products. The Team Lead reports to the Packaging Supervisor and is responsible for complying with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and carry out responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the packaging team, providing direction and ensuring the team is happy, productive and appropriately trained for the activities they are performing.
  • Ensure quality control checks are completed per specification.
  • Monitor packaging and production operations to ensure it runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Perform daily reconciliation to ensure ongoing and outgoing product orders are accurate.
  • Maintain communication with management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may arise.
  • Track non-cannabis inventory and communicate levels directly with Packaging Supervisor and senior management. Liaise with suppliers as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety, Health Canada and other regulations.
  • Provide input to management for the creation of a schedule for the packaging of cannabis products.
  • Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products prior to use, to ensure that packing specifications are met.
  • Ensure the proper set-up and operation of production and labeling equipment in compliance with SOPs and Work Instructions.
  • Perform destemming, milling, weighing, sealing, capping, labelling and general packaging of product as well as lead sanitization of packaging rooms.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GDP
  • Must be 19 years old and pass criminal record check
  • Able to perform simple math including add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Physically able to wear cleanroom/protective gowning and equipment, including but not limited to gowning, mask, hair net, and protective gloves
  • Physically able to stand or sit for long periods of time and has good hand/eye coordination
  • Physically able to perform occasional lifting, bending and twisting as well as the consistent maintenance of a clean work station
  • Must have effective verbal communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • A strong attention to detail
  • Leadership or supervisory experience

Experience

  • Experience working on a manufacturing or packaging line or within the Cannabis, Pharmaceutical or Food and Beverage industry preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
