Responsibilities:
The Payroll Specialist & System Coordinator will work closely with their payroll colleagues in identifying needs for system revisions and analyzing post-implementation results of system changes. Keeps payroll staff informed of easier, quicker methods available for their use. They will be responsible to run / verify and fix all Payroll related processes in SAP Success Factor and distribute reports. The Payroll Specialist & System Coordinator will work closely with the HR, IT and Store Operations teams to establish and implement improvements and standardization of payroll related processes.
Strategic: 20%
- Foster the evolution of payroll by developing new solutions aimed at optimizing the efficiency of the processes in place.
- In accordance with federal, provincial and company policies; prepare and process payroll for Canada and USA,
- Knowledge of current and emerging laws, in addition to new company policies and ensuring they are implemented in SAP Success factor in a timely manner for USA & Canada.
- Collaborate with human resources, information technologies and the various operations managers to implement processes ensuring the efficiency of payroll management.
- Updating any information related to payroll (i.e., sick plans, minimum wages & payroll log).
- Special projects outlined in yearly objectives.
Operational: 70%
- Responsible for all SAP Success Factor processes (load of hours, bonuses, pay calculations, interfaces, completing the pay, transmission to the bank and more).
- Verify payroll results by applying internal control processes.
- Preparing payroll related reports for internal and external request.
- Opening and testing of payroll tickets.
- Maintain, update and test the payroll system.
- File reports and process payments for the Canadian Worker’s Compensation.
- Assist in the production of Record of Employment statements and other payroll related documents.
- Contribute to year end payroll activities: T4, RL1, taxable benefits.
- Participate in external and internal audits.
- Backup for Senior HO Payroll administrator and Store Payroll.
Leadership: 10%
- The ability to react quickly to challenges that arise, finding the best way to manage a situation.
- Act upon any payroll pending issues and ensure resolution in timely manner.
- Research on new laws and regulation Canada and USA.
- Self-assessment and preparation of annual objectives.
