QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed and in good standing with the CNO
  • Experience working with pediatrics
  • Current BLS certification
  • Vulnerable Sector Check within the past 6 months
  • Professional Liability Insurance
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Schedule:

  • Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday
  • Night shift
  • 8 hour shift

Ability to Commute:

  • Toronto, ON M6P 1T8

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE

As a Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse with WeeCare, your role is about more than just supporting the medical needs of clients; it’s also about providing peace and comfort in their homes. While you are expected to administer medical care according to the client’s care plan, we also expect you to serve as a trustworthy extension of the client’s family.

DUTIES

  • Administer and document medications as prescribed
  • Monitor and maintain the safekeeping of drugs and narcotics
  • Maintain child’s records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
  • Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
  • Observe and report on changes in child’s condition to parent/guardian
  • Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring, and adaptive aids
  • Demonstrate understanding of child’s needs and maximize abilities
  • Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child/parent/guardian
  • Respond to child/parent/guardian concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including child’s equipment and belongings
  • Notify supervisor of any concerns impacting child’s safety
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned
