Your core mission as our Team lead is to guarantee that our People Operations processes are compliant, efficient, and user-friendly on a global level. You are the main architect for building a stable fundament for our processes and the main change manager in this context.
Your role is crucial in shaping how employees experience us as an employer and in conveying our cultural values in everyday operations. Our team spans the US, Germany, and the Netherlands, and we also operate with Deel (Employer of Record) in Spain and Portugal. We’re eager to find someone as passionate about this mission as we are!
In the People & Culture team, we aim to shape the work of tomorrow in a human-centric way to empower the business. You’ll be embedded within this team, leading three amazing People Operations experts and a Workplace Experience person (whom we’re currently hiring). You’ll report to Elisa, our Chief People Officer.
SKILLS WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Experience: You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in People Operations or HR management, directly interacting with C-level or top management, with first leadership experience. Experience in a startup and building structures from scratch is a plus!
- Leadership: You’re passionate about People Operations, leading by example with resilience, strong communication skills, and emotional intelligence.
- Labor Law: You possess deep knowledge of German labor law and a good understanding of European and US labor laws. International experience with other markets is ideal if you haven’t worked in the US market.
- Design Thinking: You appreciate a sleek setup, knowing the importance of easy access for employees and focusing on the right tools and process design.
- Employee Experience: You understand the importance of creating an engaging employee experience, ensuring every touchpoint reflects our cultural values and supports productivity and trust.
- Communication: You’re adept at storytelling, setting clear goals, fostering responsibility, resolving disputes constructively, and simplifying complex topics.
- Language: You’re fluent in both written and spoken German and English.
Responsibilities:
- Lead our team of People Operations experts, leveraging their strengths to meet business objectives and foster professional growth. Our team is located in Berlin and the US.
- Serve as the primary contact for our management team, consulting on compliance topics, presenting new processes and policies, and independently handling strategic projects for both Europe and the USA.
- Standardize, streamline, and ensure compliance of all core People Operations processes (Onboarding, Offboarding, Payroll, Administration, etc.) across different markets.
- Utilize data to track performance and develop lean, effective processes.
- Stay current with legal trends and dynamics across our markets, ensuring timely implementation.
- Focus on the employee lifecycle and various touchpoints, including our offices in Atlanta and Berlin, understanding the critical nature of employee experience.
