Description:
JOIN THE FUTURE OF SUSTAINABLE SHIPPING WITH NORSEPOWER!
Are you ready to embark on a thrilling journey in the heart of maritime innovation? Norsepower, a pioneer in sustainable shipping solutions, is bringing sails back to shipping – and saving the planet at the same time. We are now seeking a dynamic and talented Performance Analyst to join our team.
Norsepower Rotor Sail harnesses the wind to maximize fuel efficiency and reduce emissions of ships. It is the first commercially available mechanical sail for large vessels. It has a proven track record of successful operation since 2014. Norsepower’s project services cover all phases from sales to project delivery and operational support. Each project is planned according to the client’s needs and preferences.
In this role, you’ll join a motivated R&D team focused on enhancing overall performance and sail efficiency. As a Performance Analyst, your main responsibilities include conducting simulation-based and data analysis, as well as reporting. You’ll work at the intersection of the project team and R&D, performing performance analysis of operational ships and energy efficiency calculations. Additionally, you’ll investigate questions related to maneuverability and performance. Your analyses will support both internal objectives and client needs, and you’ll have the opportunity to present your findings yourself. The primary tools you’ll use are Python and Matlab, and we hope you’re interested in further developing these tools. You will play a crucial role in providing valuable insights through performance analysis and demonstrating our product’s impact on reducing maritime emissions.
We expect you to have strong interaction skills and a proven track record in maritime data analysis. To thrive in this role, you should be proactive with a strong desire to enhance our operations. A consistent eagerness to learn, self-development, and the ability to excel in a fast-growing company are essential attributes. Our office is located in Ruoholahti, and we offer a flexible hybrid work model. We encourage you to come to the office 2-3 times a week to foster a collaborative work environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- Suitable study background (e.g. maritime industry or energy technology)
- At least three years of relevant work experience
- Excellent skills in MATLAB and Python
- Have full working proficiency in English
