Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented post-doctoral researcher with an interest in cancer prevention and/or pharmacoepidemiology to take a leading role in an externally funded research project on ovarian cancer. The postdoc will work with established primary care data from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink. The specific project, funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, focuses on the use of intrauterine devices vs. oral contraceptives in relation to ovarian cancer incidence. The postdoc will join a team of McGill University professors and researchers at St. Mary’s Research Centre and the Lady Davis Institute, with co-investigators at the Université de Montréal and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston). The postdoc will collaborate with research staff in the development of the necessary analytic files, lead the statistical analyses, and prepare manuscripts for publication.
Qualifications:
- A doctorate in epidemiology or closely related field
- Strong data manipulation and analytic skills using statistical programming software, preferably SAS
- Demonstrated ability to write clearly and logically in English to produce high quality publications
- Demonstrated scientific rigour and the ability to synthesize and summarize
- Experience with large databases
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Autonomy and leadership
Annual Salary:
$50,000 to $58,000 + benefits commensurate with experience
