POSITION SUMMARY
Applications are invited for the role of Post-Doctoral Researcher at the School of Medicine.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated Post-Doctoral Researcher, with strong communication skills, to join our team in the Department of General Practice, UCC. The successful candidate will work on a Health Research Board Applied Partnership Award project, under the direction of the Principal Investigator Prof Tony Foley. The multidisciplinary project team includes clinicians, academics and PPI partners.
Dementia care is a global health priority. Dementia remains under-diagnosed with less than 50% of those living with dementia ever receiving a diagnosis. Research has highlighted significant diagnostic challenges, including the communication pathway between general practice and secondary care. We aim to develop an evidence-informed guideline and template for referring patients with suspected cognitive impairment or dementia within general practice to secondary care.
Project Title: The development and evaluation of a referral guideline for referring patients with suspected cognitive impairment or dementia from general practice to secondary care.
Post Duration: 18.5 months
