ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Power BI Administrator is primarily responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of existing RPS Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps. Primary responsibilities of the Power BI Administrator include but are not limited to:
- Administering and managing RPS’ Microsoft Power BI.
- Configuring and maintaining RPS’ Power BI environments and data gateways, monitoring the performance and health of Power BI environments and solutions, troubleshooting issues, performing root-cause analysis, and investigating platform-related issues with RPS engineers / Microsoft Support.
- Developing and implementing client reporting packages as per contractual requirements
- Developing and implementing new internal reporting packages based on stakeholder requirements, conversion of existing reporting and analytics to Power BI.
- Setting up, building, and creating deployment pipelines using DevOps CI/CD best practices, implementing and enforcing data governance policies, best practices, and security standards
- Performing monthly, quarterly, and yearly housekeeping activities to optimally maintain environments and orphaned objects
- Creating and maintaining documentation for the Power BI environment and internal/external client reporting
- Collaborating with business stakeholders and developers to troubleshoot issues
- Staying abreast of the latest features, updates, and enhancements; provide recommendations for improvements and optimizations
- Working closely with internal end users to provide guidance on best practices; educate and empower them to leverage the platform effectively
WORK EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Power BI administrator, or similar role
- Demonstrated proficiency in administering and configuring Power BI, building and deploying Power BI dashboards, and managing data gateways
- Knowledge of Power Platform security, environment management and data-loss prevention
- Experience managing reporting schedulers
- Additional technical skills: MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Python, MS Excel, Task schedulers, PowerShell, MS Azure
- Writing & maintaining clear documentation
- Managing work through DevOps
- Strong communication and presentation skills, exceptional ability to work well with individuals and teams at all levels, ability to analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve issues with the reporting environment
- Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Power BI Administrator, Associate, or equivalent, are preferred

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent experience

VALUE & OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
This role, part of the Data Solutions team, is responsible for the ongoing delivery, maintenance, and augmentation of existing Power BI dashboards in conjunction with the delivery of customized internal and external client reporting.
The foundational value of provisioning clear and accurate operational dashboards and reporting ensures that internal stakeholders have the information they require to make tactical and strategic decisions, and that RPS clients clearly understand the value RPS brings to their business.
The role will also be responsible to gather business requirements, design, and build new Power BI dashboards as required while proactively determining ways to better inform the business leveraging RPS’ extensive operational and property data.
