This is a hybrid role with an expectation to be in the Toronto office a minimum of 2-3 days per week.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Power BI Developer to join our analytics team. The ideal candidate will assist in designing, developing, and deploying Power BI dashboards and reports to help drive data-driven business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and business objectives.
- Assist in the design and development of interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Collect, analyze, and visualize data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain and support existing Power BI reports and dashboards, making updates as necessary.
- Participate in data modeling and data preparation processes, ensuring optimal performance of Power BI solutions.
- Learn and apply Power BI best practices in report design and data visualization.
- Assist with the documentation of reports and dashboards, including user guides and technical documentation.
- Support end-users with inquiries and provide training on Power BI tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Power BI – 2+ years of hands on experience including Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service
- Familiarity with data modeling, version control, and data transformation concepts.
- Experience with SQL and database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) is a plus.
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices and principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of data analytics.
- Experience with Power BI and test management tool (Microfocus ALM and Jira) integrations using Rest API and Odata is a plus.
- This role may expand to include test automation in the future.
