Description:
Are you a dedicated and passionate veterinary professional seeking a way to have a positive impact on the community and lead a strong and dedicated team? South Eastern Animal Hospital is on the lookout for a new Practice Manager to join our dynamic team.
ABOUT US:
South Eastern Animal Hospital provides caring, quality veterinary advice, medicine and surgery for companion animals. Our hospital facilities include pathology facilities, a fully equipped Idexx In-house laboratory, an x ray suite, dental radiography, anaesthetic monitoring and patient warming device in our surgical suite and automatic intravenous fluid pumps for hospitalised animals. We have visiting professional interest practitioners, allowing ultrasounds and endoscopy services to be performed in house and providing advice on more complex cases.
The Practice Manager will be responsible for:
- Leading, supervising and supporting the nursing staff
- Induction, training and continual development of nursing staff
- Developing and improving clinic policies and procedures
- Work closely with the Head Veterinarian and Head Nurse to coordinate the consult and surgery schedules
- Control costs and expenditure in the clinic in regards to labour and consumable costs
- Provide insight and strong planning skills to manage the clinics efficiency
- Assisting with general and surgical nursing duties, reception and consultations with a vet.
- Assisting in the development and running of veterinary related programs including student, volunteer and community programs
- Approaching patient treatment and care with compassion and the use of fear-free nursing techniques to support the animals welfare
- Collaborate with other staff in an efficient and respectful manner to achieve the best possible outcome for all the animals in care
- Provide support, development and leadership to all of the team
Responsibilities:
