Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to senior management regarding projects, policies and procedures involving analysis and reporting of senior school student assessment results.
  • Design, develop and present training programs, workshops, seminars and support materials for schools and stakeholders about senior student achievement data.
  • Provide individualised advice and support, including technical support, to schools and stakeholders about analysing and using student assessment data for improving student learning and identifying anomalies in student performance.
  • Lead analysis of assessment tasks and student work using extensive knowledge of Queensland senior syllabuses, student assessment systems and methods, syllabus assessment standards to provide quality advice to assist and support schools with data anomalies.
  • Provide expert advice to complex and/or sensitive written and verbal requests for information about student performance data.
  • Undertake specific data analysis and research tasks as required to assist the QCAA in achieving its business outcomes.
  • Maintain and enhance stakeholder relations with relevant state, commonwealth and private sector agencies, education authorities, registered training organisations, schools, students, parents and the general public.
  • Manage and conduct quality assurance processes regarding school-provided student achievement data, adhering to tight timelines and fixed deadlines for certification.
  • Prepare responses to applications for verification and review, ministerial inquiries, and communicate with schools regarding data issues identified during end of year processes.
  • Contribute to a change management and performance development culture by participating in regular two-way feedback discussions with managers and colleagues, and through the implementation of an individual Performance and Development Plan (PDP).
