REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient in building large-scale and high throughput web applications from architecture design to implementation and testing.
  • Deep understanding of microservices and distributed application architecture
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills, with a knack for explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • A deep commitment to creating customer-centric solutions that deliver value and exceed expectations.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with at least one cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure and GCP
  • Expert in JavaScript or TypeScript; Excellent knowledge of HTML/CSS; Familiar with one or more JS frameworks, such as React, Backbone or Angular
  • Expert in Python, Java or Golang
  • Expert in at least one RPC framework such as thrift and gRPC
  • Expert in developing and working with thoughtfully crafted HTTP APIs, such as REST or GraphQL
  • Rich experience with 1 or more relational databases & NoSQL databases
  • Solid knowledge and rich experience in working with at least one cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure and GCP
  • Expert in containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with agile methodologies and leadership in engineering contexts.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record in customer-facing technical roles.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Principal Software Engineer at Splunk, you’ll play a crucial role in directly solving our customers’ challenges in Australia. You will understand their needs and deliver tailored technology solutions, ensuring these enhance their operational success. This role requires leading collaborations with inter-Splunk teams and driving both design decisions and contributions to the product roadmap definitions. Your efforts will ensure seamless integration and deployment of solutions, fostering strong customer relationships and guiding our technology’s strategic direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary technical liaison for customers in the region, understanding their needs, challenges, and objectives to deliver custom software solutions.
  • Lead the architecture, design and execution of solutions that align with customer requirements and our product capabilities, ensuring seamless integration and deployment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, offering expert advice and support throughout the solution’s lifecycle.
  • Work closely with product management and engineering teams to relay customer insights and feedback, driving meaningful improvements to our offerings.
  • Lead technical discussions and innovation sessions aimed at enhancing our solutions with insights from real-world customer experiences, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance meet the diverse needs of our customers
  • Contribute to strategic decisions and the evolution of our technology stack through active participation in technical reviews, acting as a trusted advisor to the customers.
