Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
- B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or time served with emphasis in process design and controls of water and wastewater treatment unit operations
- Solid experience in water and biological treatment systems (Suspended Growth and Fixed Film processes)
- Experience with biological process simulators, such as BioWin, SIMBA, SUMO, and/or GPS-X
- Experience working with diverse, global teams
- Strong process and project management skills with ability to drive projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to communicate effectively and
- Proven customer interaction and commercial savvy
- Ability to travel for client meetings

Responsibilities:
WHAT IS THE ROLE?
The Process Engineer manages all aspects of process engineering for the commercialisation of VWTS& innovative biological technologies - including ZeeLung, ZeeNAMMOX, zeeDENSE and memDENSE - in Europe and other target regions.
The primary responsibility is to develop technically sound and commercially competitive solutions employing VWTS’ innovative biological technologies and to ensure the successful design & startup of demonstration and full-scale plants in partnership with regional engineering teams.
The position requires a combination of process design expertise, and project management skills - along with commercial expertise in technical sales and customer relationships.
WHAT ARE THE DAY TO DAY DUTIES?
- Process design ownership for a portfolio of innovative biological technologies - including ZeeLung, ZeeNAMMOX, ZeeDENSE and memDENSE - in Europe and other target regions.
- Partner with regional Process and Commercial Engineering teams to develop competitive solutions.
- Support Biological Technology Commercialization Leads in developing project opportunities, including direct engagement with end users and engineers to define the customer challenge and position a technical solution.
- Ensure successful startup and operation of demonstration and full-scale plants in partnership with regional engineering teams.
- Build positive references by supporting the success of end users and collecting data to articulate the benefits of the technology.
- Create awareness of innovative biological technologies by presenting at conferences and engaging with stakeholders.
- Develop concepts for new products or product improvements by analyzing internal and external customer feedback, market research, emerging technology, and competitive trends.
- Monitor and report on competitor activity, including advanced technology and conventional competition.
- Work closely with the Commercial Engineering teams to ensure appropriate high-quality proposals.
- Work closely with regional Pilot and Process Engineering teams to ensure that the pilot equipment fleet meets market needs and to prioritize pilot projects and recommendations for new builds.
- Build, align and develop process & commercial engineering capabilities in target regions for technology scale-up.
- Develop design tools for use by regional process engineering teams for technology scale-up.
