We are looking for a Product Manager, Machine Room-Less (MRL) Slings and Safeties to join Product Management chapter (competence organization) / Elevator Mechanics & Light Materials Tribe (agile organization).
Responsibilities:
GENERIC PRODUCT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactive connection between the agile team and variety of stakeholders
- Ensures the agile team understands and prioritizes customer value
- Products/components meets the expectations of stakeholders
- Products/components are competitive during the lifecycle
- Products/components delivers outcomes defined in the strategy
- Bring clarify for agile team and stakeholders (priorities, roadmap, backlog)
- KPIs managed and followed-up
- Dependency management related to surrounding products/components
- Stakeholders kept up to date proactively
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION
Elevator Mechanics and Light Materials tribe is responsible of developing and maintaining all mechanical elevator components in KONE portfolio globally and ensuring the safety, quality and performance of those components throughout their entire lifecycle. Tribe actively scouts for opportunities to create new value to customers by implementing new innovative and more sustainable elevator designs.
The tribe works in a hybrid model, meaning that work is conducted partly from home office and partly from KONE Finland Hyvinkää office. Work can however also be fully conducted from Hyvinkää office alone, if more suitable for the candidate. Please notice that this role does require the selected candidate to live permanently in Finland.
MRL Slings and Safeties team is largest team in the Tribe and the Product Owner plays central and crucial role to drive the success of the team, Tribe and the MRL products in general. The team is responsible of development and product change management of all MRL sling types and safety equipment, such as safety gears and overspeed governors globally. Members of the team are located in Finland, China and India.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION
- Global ownership of Machine room-less slings, counterweight frames and mechanical safety devices
- Lead a global team of experts by providing vision, prioritizing, removing roadblocks and managing stakeholders
- Balance team focus between new development, quality, value engineering and supply chain projects
- Build and maintain component portfolio strategy considering supply base, elevator product roadmaps and regulation
- Set and follow KPI’s for the team
- Manage the team quarterly plans and follow-up
- Drive continuous improvement in team ways of working
TO SUCCEED IN THE ROLE, YOU HAVE
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 3+ years of experience from leading a team in a global environment
- Experience from hardware development, preferably mechanical load bearing structures (e.g. design, project management)
- Ability to lead, motivate and influence people across the organization
- Balance between technical expertise and business acumen
- Excellent communication skills in English to be able to communicate effectively with experts, management, suppliers and stakeholders
- Elevator mechanics knowledge is considered a plus
- Experience from lean & agile ways of working, backlog management and JIRA is considered a plus
