Description:

As Technical Project Manager of our Video and Digital Home team, you will be at the helm of supporting a plethora of home and TV/media platforms and features using Agile development processes. This team is a part of our Future Friendly Home Services DevOps team, which is responsible for the end-to-end technology development and operations of TELUS’ Optik TV services, video and over-the-top services, broadband network capabilities, smart home solutions, and software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) solutions.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together
You will help define the architecture for our new Future Friendly Home initiatives, integrating newly developed software with components from leading vendors into a complex cloud-first pattern, in order to deliver to our customers the best possible experience.

Here’s how:

  • Work in collaboration with the Product Owner to lead and manage infrastructure projects from inception to placement into production
  • Plan, lead, organize activities to deploy new software releases into the infrastructure supported by the team
  • Help organize, facilitate, and/or improve regular scrum ceremonies
  • Assist Product Owner and Scrum Masters with backlog grooming and sprint planning
  • Work as a liaison between scrum teams to identify and resolve dependencies
  • Create, maintain, and report on product metrics, KPIs, and project or scrum management execution
  • Interface and facilitate coordination of cross-team for project issues and dependencies
  • Work with Product Owner to create/update project pipeline, dashboards, and roadmaps
  • Coach members of the engineering team on time and planning optimization
  • Represent the team in external management tracking as needed
  • Provide continuous and consistent project status for global and regional team activities
  • Ability to represent the team and the Product Owner in project scoping, staffing, and scheduling negotiations
  • Raise awareness with the Product Owner and provide solutions for potential shortages and mitigations in all program resources

  • Agile product management - SAFE, Scrum, Kanban, etc

  • Public cloud (AWS, GCP)
  • Container platforms (GKE, EKS, OpenShift)
  • Infrastructure-as-Code
  • SQL and non-SQL DB
  • Load Balancers, Firewalls
  • Continuous Integration/Delivery (GitHub Actions, GCP Cloud Build, Spinnaker, Jenkins)

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology
  • 5+ years of relatable experience in IT program/project management
  • Agile certification and experience managing Agile Teams (Scrum Master/Product Owner)
  • Proficiency in DevOps/Cloud and Jira
  • Technical experience in prior development and project management is a must
  • Familiarity with infrastructure technology concepts such as cloud, orchestration, deployment, and shared services.
  • Hands-on Agile experience with Atlassian products
  • Coach and guide team members to accomplish project goals, to meet established schedules, and resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Ability to guide teams through conflicts to achieve consensus on technical project implementations
  • Experience with program, portfolio management
  • Experience in helping to manage and maintain resource, contract, or software budgets
