Description:
SAMH Creative Services began in 2011, offering arts programmes on a monthly basis, and subsequently expanded to include sports and music. Here is a relaxed and supportive environment, the art of making friends is simple. Our activities help people bond, without bias or concern if anyone has a mental health condition. Many of our activities are open to the public to encourage awareness and reduce stigma for persons with mental illness.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or degree in fine arts, design, music, movement, or related fields
- 2-3 years in teaching/community art-based work experience/arts and healthcare experience, including internship or contract work experiences that have been substantial.

- An independent learner and takes initiative to seek help when in doubt

Required skills:
- Microsoft suite
- Basic design on Canva & other design software
- Group facilitation (or creative facilitation)
- Project management
- Programme development (including content curation and feedback evaluation)
- Able to converse in dialects and mandarin is preferred
- Enjoys relating with people and able to set professional boundaries
Responsibilities:
- Assist in-centre programme administration and management, which includes:
(i) volunteer management,
(ii) liaison within SAMH team and external partners
(ii) documentation of session facilitation and artworks,
(iii) client intakes and registration for sessions,
(iv) review and evaluation of programme impact, and
(v) maintain and update client and partner database and records,
(vi) Maintain art materials and artworks inventory,
(vii) Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of space. - Design and deliver in-centre programmes based on a person-centered, family-friendly ethos, with applied principles from psychology, therapy and/or education.
- Provide support and lead external engagements, which may include some of the following:
(i) proposal prep and liaison with partner for agreement and signature,
(ii) prep of art materials and making arrangements for transport,
(iii) classroom management and facilitation assistance,
(iv) administering of online or physical forms, and
(v) engaging with participants on session material and reflective questions. - Initiate, plan, coordinate, and execute community-based and art-based projects that can benefit clients and support general arts for wellness advocacy.
- Work directly with clients and participants in a trauma-informed way that supports healing and recovery, as well as growth. This may involve working in a multidisciplinary team who supporting and contributing to a client’s care plan.
- Participate actively in team discussions on programme development and management.
