Project Coordinator - Engineering
We are currently recruiting a Project Coordinator to join our Engineering Project Team, someone who can assist the team in meeting deadlines and deliver quality projects. A busy and varied role, you’ll get stuck in and work actively and collaboratively with the project team to make sure we’re meeting our project delivery expectations, continually assessing our project health and staying on top of all the moving parts.
The Project Coordinator is a hands-on role where a bias for action and top notch co-ordination skills are vital to ensure the project team are aware of all project stages. You will work closely with project team members, managers and other key stakeholders to help deliver major organisational projects efficiently.

Key aspects of this role are:

  • Responsible for coordinating project activities and related administration and reporting, under the direction of a Project Manager.
  • Assist the Group Capital Manager to develop, implement and continuously improve an effective project system for all areas of the business.
  • Assist the Marine Engineering Superintendent in completing business cases, managing quotes, monitoring costs, purchasing and tracking parts.

At times, coordinating of vessel survey work can be undertaken outside of Nelson. Therefore, the ability to be flexible when this occurs is essential. As a guide, 2 or 3 times per year you may be required to work in another location, for up to five weeks.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years’ project coordination experience, or similar skill set
  • Strong relationship management skills, with a proactive approach to keeping everyone informed of project progress.
  • To be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and MS Project
  • Have effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills.
