POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Project Manager will provide leadership and management oversight for all phases of heavy civil construction projects, with a focus on water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and other civil infrastructure. This role involves ensuring that project quality, schedules, cost control, safety, and customer satisfaction objectives are met. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Project Manager will oversee multiple project delivery teams to successfully complete complex infrastructure projects.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous hands-on experience working with grading and underground crews, specifically related to earthworks, shoring, dewatering, concrete, mechanical and electrical systems, and commissioning.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7-10+ years of related experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and other civil infrastructure projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction technology, methods, scheduling, cost control, and safety.
  • Software Proficiency: Knowledge of project management software such as MS Project, Bluebeam and AutoCAD.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and mentor teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and resolve conflicts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from managers, clients, and customers. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Flexibility in approach, able to embrace challenges and deliver results on time with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor project teams, including Superintendents, Project Coordinators, and Quality Control Coordinators, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Project Oversight: Manage all phases of construction projects, with a focus on water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and other civil infrastructure.
  • Client and Stakeholder Relations: Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and employees to resolve issues, maintain relationships, and ensure project needs are met.
  • Schedule and Budget Management: Develop, review, and approve project schedules and budgets, tracking progress and costs to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with construction contracts, industry safety standards, and environmental regulations. Implement and maintain an effective safety program.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee the performance of all subcontractors, ensuring scope compliance and timely submission of all contract documentation.
  • Reporting: Provide bi-weekly status reports on project progress, costs, and forecasts to senior management, and ensure job status reports are reviewed with the project team prior to issuance.
  • Business Development: Participate in business development activities to foster productive client relationships and promote company growth.
