Description:

Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS’ signalling system.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on one of Australia’s largest infrastructure projects and to be a part of something that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
About the Role
European Train Control System (ETCS) is a complex project which has critical deadlines to provide signalling and other technology for Cross River Rail’s tunnels and to integrate with the existing Queensland Rail network. As Project Manager Rail Systems you will play a key role in coordinating and guiding the delivery of the the ETCS Project. As a client side role you will collaborate with and lead our Alliance Delivery Partners through the project life cycle with a focus on Test and Commissioning, Transition to Operations and Operations Phases of the project.
With a focus on management and project delivery, you will contribute to governance, reporting, contract management, risk management and the resolution of technical issues. This opportunity is offered as a two year contract with possible extension.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate development and approval of project plans including identifying requirements and interfaces across all functional areas.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships (including Delivery Partners & Queensland Rail), ensuring the availability of critical resources for timely delivery.
  • Manage implementation of project plans to meet scope, time, cost, quality and safety requirements. Monitor and manage project schedule, milestones and key deliverables.
  • Ensure that the project can be clearly tracked for critical points of impact, sequencing and overall progress. Understand how actions taken may impact other areas of the CRR project.
  • Determine and implement project schedule and activities throughout the project lifecycle including testing and commissioning, transition to operations and operations phase.
  • Lead the resolution of complex technical issues in consultation with engineering teams.
  • Support contracts management and resolve commercial issues between delivery partners.
  • Interface with Queensland Rail team to facilitate successful and safe delivery of work.
  • Manage, monitor, and mitigate project risks through the Risk Management
