Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
Position - Six month fixed term
Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $121,946 - $135,496 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE | KO TE MAHI NEI

With new investment into transport projects secured there is no better time than to advance your career, working for a client delivering essential transport projects in high-need areas, across Christchurch. We are recruiting on a six month fixed term basis to cover parental leave.

As a PM at the Council, you have the unique position of leading the project from inception, responsibilities include;

  • Leading the scoping of risk, budgeting and programming
  • Coordinating the design process, prioritising safety and quality
  • Managing tenders, appointing consultants and contractors and managing their performance
  • Tracking project progress, ensuring key milestones are met and providing regular reporting.

When the project is complete, you’ll be there at the end to hand the asset over to the team that will run it.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience leading civil engineering projects, ideally from early stage through to completion
  • A relationship builder who enjoys building and managing teams and is excited by the prospect of communicating with stakeholders, elected officials and the public
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience analysing project risk and recommending mitigatio
