About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Planning & Control Systems Manager (PPCSM) to join the Project Controls function of the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) based at the Osborne Naval Shipyard, SA.
Reporting to the Program Planning and Controls Manager (PPCM), the PPCSM is a key technical support role, and will be responsible for the delivery, integration, and alignment of the EVM System tools, along with the provision of Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support and training to the HCFP PP&C community.
This position will form part of the project controls lead team and will manage a team of planning and controls professionals contributing to the successful delivery of the HCFP.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the activities of the Planning and Controls Systems Team.
  • Collaborate with and support the Planning & Controls Integration and Governance Managers as required.
  • Provide expert assistance to the team in the use of the HCF Program cost and schedule tools – Primavera, Cobra, Oracle and other HCFP specific toolsets.
  • Ensure that robust baselines exist, and integration of tool sets is managed and controlled.
  • Provide technical guidance and peer review within Project Controls community.
  • Provide training and support across the wider HCFP PP&C Community, resulting a high level of capability in the use of the toolsets.
  • Be a champion for driving efficiency and continuous improvement through the use of the integrated tool set.
  • Assure data integrity in systems and tools and appropriate configuration control across the EVMS.
  • Ensure alignment between the EVMS and business artefacts.
  • Ensure alignment of the EVMS with the HCF Head Contract including financial alignment.

About YOU

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Commercial or Project Management (desirable).
  • Proven performance at a similar level or demonstrated prior experience and progression as a Senior Project Controller.
  • Demonstrated schedule and cost experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 / Cobra / MSP preferred
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management.
  • Ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of difference audiences is critical to this role.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Current defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
