Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maternity Cover post Project Worker 2 to join our team. The post is based in the South Eastern Trust Locality working alongside an experienced and dedicated team of workers. The Early Intervention Support Service (EISS) works across two areas in the SET to include North Down and Ards and Lisburn sector. The post holder will work in the North down & Ards sector. We provide early intervention support to children and families using a variety of interventions. A tailored package of support is offered in relation to a range of issues experienced.
The Support is primarily undertaken in the family home however we may utilise Barnardos Office spaces or schools if it is appropriate to do so. Family support assists with the development of play skills, behaviour management, routines and boundaries, parenting support and emotional support.
When necessary we may also offer Therapeutic Intervention support,which involves individual work with children and young people in partnership with parents/carers. Issues experienced may include low self- esteem/confidence, grief and loss, anxiety, managing change and transitions. The service also provides evidence informed parenting programmes.

The successful candidate is required to have (Essential):

  • NVQ Level 3 (childcare / child development) or equivalent;
  • Demonstrable family support experience
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team or setting providing services to families;
  • Hold a full UK driving licence, business insurance and access to a car for work purposes (this criteria will be waived for candidates with a disability who can demonstrate alternative means of meeting the mobility requirements of the post)
