Constructor University seeks applicants for the position of Provost of the University.

The Provost has broad responsibility for leading CU Schools, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and research excellence.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the academic operations, the three focal areas and their faculties
  • Leading the academic programs across all areas of study, including interdisciplinary and technology transfer activities
  • Promoting research excellence and innovation and facilitating collaborations with external partners
  • Ensuring the quality and continuous improvement of academic programs through assessment and accreditation processes
  • Working with the President and other relevant senior officers on defining and implementing strategy, including alignment of academic programs with the university’s mission and goals
  • Strategic hiring of faculty according to the University’s research focus areas
  • Leading promotion and tenure processes for faculty, and conducting regular evaluation of faculty
  • Managing and optimizing resource allocation, including faculty, staff, and budgets
  • Enhancing the educational experience for students, including curriculum development, advising, and support services
  • Enhancing the quality of the student body
  • Building partnerships with external stakeholders to enhance the university’s reputation and impact
  • Promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all academic activities

Background

  • Established scholar with a solid record of academic achievements, management and supervision of academic activities
  • Extensive managerial experience in academically-shaped and complex R&D-areas or major international projects
  • Extensive experience and understanding research grant process
  • Experience in the implementation of entrepreneurial strategies in heterogeneous contexts
  • Experience in change processes
  • Affinity with digitalization processes
  • Extensive knowledge of the German and international academic landscapes
  • Demonstrated experience working in an international academic environment or with international partnerships
  • Experience across multiple disciplines or in interdisciplinary settings
