We’re looking for an experienced QA Practice Lead to hold a leadership role within Medibank’s Digital Platforms & Engineering team. Reporting directly to the QA Manager this role carries the responsibility of leading a team of QA Leads to undertake all quality engineering activities required to deliver technology solutions that meet the business needs.
Within the role you will be expected to undertake testing activities required to deliver high-quality technology solutions as well as enhance test modelling techniques and QA best practices. You will be involved in cultivating a culture that takes ownership of quality and actively strive for defect prevention in addition to detecting defects.
Responsibilities:
- Direct line management of a group of QA Leads of up to 8 and responsible for the recruitment, selection and management of the team.
- Take charge of developing and maintaining partnerships within the business, fostering collaboration with external stakeholders.
- Responsible for the testing of IT solutions within the team to ensure they meet business requirements and comply with all relevant standards.
- Accountable for managing the design, implementation, and execution of end-to-end testing activities within the platform teams, across divisions.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Managers, Engineering Leads and QA Leads to ensure that a test-driven approach is taken to in execution. Implement and optimise practices that ensure defects are caught early in the development / test lifecycle.
- Participate in the Non-Functional requirements definition for initiatives within the squads.
- Plan, create and implement an automated E2E integrated testing pipeline.
- Collaborate with Engineering Managers and engineering teams to ensure that test approaches are aligned to CI/CD and platform development capabilities.
- Facilitate platform teams monitoring and managing the completion of each initiative due to be delivered by a release and coordinating the testing and sign off of key business outcomes
- Champion and improve our way of working across the team.
- Drives continuous improvement and constantly demonstrates a capability improvement mindset.
