Description:

JOB DESCIPTION

ITB is a flexible plastic packaging manufacturer and part of the Novus Holdings Group. ITB produces an array packaging for the FMCG and food markets. Its products include retail bags, security bags, FFS food packaging, heavy duty sacks and carrier bags which are distributed across South Africa and abroad.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Have completed Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Have a knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality standards
  • Have at least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 1-year experience as Quality Technician.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be Computer literate.
  • Be able to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and pay attention to detail.
  • Be able to read speak and write English.
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts and weekend overtime where required.
  • Ability to make own decisions in line with the company and customers’ requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that all products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality at every stage of production.
  • To maintain the Quality Management System at all times and isolate non-conformances.
  • To approve products at set up stage and during production as per job cards, artwork, master samples and customer supplied samples.
  • To maintain minimal downtime during the approval process
  • To create and renew product master samples at various stages of production at the first run and when revisions have taken place.
  • To extract all quality record books and sheets for filing.
  • Controlling of non-conforming products by identifying and isolating non-conforming products from receipt of raw material, during production processes and through to the finished product.
  • To test products in the Laboratory and on production floor at every stage.
  • To retain history samples which are representative of the production run.
  • To comply with all ITB’s policies and procedures including but not limited to Health & Safety, General Workplace policies, Quality & Food packaging safety, standard operating procedure etc.
