Summary
For the Area “Targeting Sights” we are looking for a “Realtime Embedded Software Developer (f/m/d)” at the Oberkochen site as soon as possible.
The “Targeting Sights” Area defines, develops and integrates electromechanically stabilized, multispectral sighting systems with range measurement for reconnaissance and weapon guidance in military vetronics and ship applications. The interdisciplinary task spectrum includes systems engineering, real-time software development for control, process data generation, automation, control, navigation, data management and diagnostics of distributed embedded systems, mechanical design, circuit design of analog and microcontroller assemblies, power electronics, as well as test development, up to system simulations.

Your Tasks

  • Development of stabilized optronic platforms by networking multispectral video cameras, laser rangefinders, image processing electronics (video tracking), inertial measurement systems and control of electromechanical drive units to high performance vision systems
  • Development of real-time/multitasking software for embedded computer systems with RTOS and multicore processors for control and regulation
  • Model-oriented SW development
  • SW component and system integration in a team
  • Verification of developed software in the visual system
  • Agile software engineering in a team
  • Participation in overall system integrations, product presentations and trials, also internationally
  • Project phase-dependent, occasional travel

Willingness to travel is a prerequisite

Your Profile

  • Engineer in the field of computer science, electrical engineering/mechatronics or comparable training with a focus on embedded software development
  • Experience in software architecture description with UML in Enterprise Architect, object-oriented software development with C++ for QNX Neutrino 6.5 / 7, Arch Linux and FreeRTOS
  • Experience, integration and testing of software applications in distributed systems with sniffer and diagnostic tools (e.g. from Vector Informatik)
  • Knowledge of software development for signal and data acquisition in real time and for event and sequence control
  • Ideally QNX RTOS knowledge on multi-processing system on chip architectures
  • Knowledge of socket / middleware programming (TCP-UDP / IP, DDS, CANopen) for the automation of distributed systems with CAN bus and Ethernet
  • Knowledge in the development of unit and component tests with Google Test for automated black box / white box testing
  • Knowledge of requirements engineering and specification creation in DOORS
  • Knowledge of version management with GIT
  • Creative thinking and enjoy working independently in an agile development team
  • Good knowledge of German and English
