JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Mandatory
- Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN). Applicants in their final year or near completion will be considered
- Recent completion of a physical assessment course
Skills and Knowledge
- Superior assessment and clinical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including sound knowledge of oral and written English
- Proven ability to make decisions and manage workload in a fast-paced work environment
- Computer proficiency
- Demonstrated ability in providing patient-focused care
- Must have physical strength, flexibility and endurance required to perform the role, as determined by the needs of the position and based on assessment conducted by Occupational Health Services

Responsibilities:
- Provide holistic, patient-centered care in collaboration with the patient, significant others and interprofessional team
- Establish patient care plans based on bio-psychosocial and spiritual needs assessment and integrating other health professionals’ recommendations
- Enhance your comprehensive health and physical assessment skills with multiple complex co-morbidities
- Assess and manage care of patients with evolving acuity
- Utilize your full scope of practice
- Build meaningful therapeutic relationships with patients and families to optimize their health care journey
- Have opportunities to support patients who seek Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD)
- Utilize specialize skills and knowledge including tracheostomy, enteral feeding tube, ostomies, nephrostomy tubes, pain management and complex wound care
- Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
