Description:

Are you ready to embark on an exciting career journey in the technical consulting field? At Advanced Utility Systems, we are on the lookout for a driven and innovative Technical Consultant to join our team. This unique opportunity allows you to be at the forefront of project implementation within a stimulating and supportive environment focused on ongoing learning and growth.
As a valued member of our team, you’ll dive into meaningful and challenging tasks that will accelerate both your personal and professional development. We believe in nurturing talent from within and providing clear pathways for career progression. If you’re passionate about learning, eager to drive positive change, and thrive in an energetic yet supportive atmosphere, this position is tailored for you.
In contrast to traditional consulting roles, this position emphasizes technical expertise without the need for client-facing interactions, allowing you to focus deeply on your craft. With the way we’ve structured the role, it opens up more opportunities and areas to grow into, such as moving towards development, helping support our current clients, or transitioning into our implementation team as one of our client-facing leads.
Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with our diverse teams to deploy our advanced product suite to align with client specifications. While virtual work is the norm, we do appreciate candidates who can join us quarterly at our Toronto headquarters for face-to-face innovation and collaboration.
Join our visionary team that values creativity, development, and superior performance. Apply now to step into a future with Advanced Utility Systems where your contributions spark change and forward momentum. Initiate your career journey with us today!
This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in Canada and the US. Preference shall be given to those candidates that are able to travel to Toronto quarterly.

What your impact will be:

  • Develop tools to support implementation and reduce overall implementation timelines
  • Document and maintain technical configuration documentation of the application
  • Work with application consultants and business analysts to create technical configuration documentation for specific client implementations that outlines non-standard configurations
  • Troubleshoot configuration issues and collaborate with the team to resolve them efficiently.
  • Conduct testing and validation of configured software to ensure it meets both client requirements and quality standards.
  • Continuously update knowledgebase on software updates and client configurations to ensure optimal system configurations.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members as required for effective system usage.
  • Develop best practices and standardized procedures for configuration processes.
  • Offer technical guidance and support throughout the implementation to ensure successful project delivery.

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent customer service and oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new methodologies and systems.
  • Must be able to translate business requirements into functional solutions.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team as well as individually.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing multiple priorities or tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to assess and address complex configuration challenges.
  • Extensive SQL and PowerShell knowledge.
  • While we are not currently traveling, the position will require some travel once normal operations resume. The amount of travel will vary based on project milestones and deliveries, with project milestones and deliveries approximately every two months but can be project dependent.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license, and the ability to travel internationally (most clients are within the USA).

What would make you stand out:

  • Experience with local government utility billing applications or other financial applications
  • Proven experience in creating detailed technical documentation and reports.
  • Experience with software implementation projects, particularly in a consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with agile and/or waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations that may impact software configuration.
  • Experience with enterprise-level software solutions and their configuration.
  • Experience with BI Reporting
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, or related discipline

What we can offer:
