Description:

To co-ordinate the administrative undertakings of the Senior Research Team. Provide a comprehensive administrative, personal assistant, and secretarial service to the core staff. Create, develop and maintain good office systems (establish appropriate paper and software based records systems and pro-active forward and progress monitoring system) essential for the smooth running of the service. Facilitate effective communication and co-ordination of activities between all members of the research teams and relevant local, regional and national agencies.
Provide cross cover for secretarial colleagues during absences as directed by Line Manager as required. Play a key role in circulating and tracking responses to expressions of interest relating to NIHR portfolio, commercial and non commercial, studies and non portfolio studies with commercial sponsors Responsible for the procurement of goods and services for the research team and maintain paperwork for these. Calculate monies owed for previously agreed contracted clinical trial activities for approval by clinical trial sponsors. Deal with financial queries from external organisations and Trust finance department.
