How can you inspire innovation at Nuseed?
Based at our Nuseed Innovation Centre in Horsham, we are currently looking for a Research Agronomist to join the Nuseed team. The key purpose of this role is to assist in the coordination and management of multiple Nuseed plant breeding programs including the Omega 3 and Canola programs. This role will see the successful candidate undertaking responsibilities at trial locations such as operating machinery to plant, spray and harvest experimental trials, working within the Trial Management Team and supervising casual labour for field and seed preparation work.
This role will be heavily field based and as such a tool of trade vehicle is provided.
What will you be doing?
Working with the Trial Management team to manage nurseries, trials, maintenance and harvesting activities
Assisting with nursery sowing, pesticide application, take agronomic notes in breeding nurseries and yield trials
Liaising with new and existing growers to identify locations for field trails
Operating machinery to sow, spray, and harvest experimental trials
Supervising casual labour for field and seed preparation work
Assisting with seed deliveries with appropriate paperwork in place to third party providers and internal and external laboratories.
Adopting and applying OH&S policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
What do you bring?
This role would suit a suitably qualified Research Agronomist with demonstrated experience in a similar role with the ability to manage Agricultural field trials. The ideal candidate will have excellent broadacre knowledge ideally with previous experience growing Canola.
