QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• A relevant level 8 honours degree and >10 years relevant full-time research experience post award of degree, including industrial based R&D in a complementary research discipline.

Desirable:

• Relevant PhD qualification and significant further relevant research experience
• Relevant experience in role related to the duties and responsibilities outlined below
• Experience in Industry Engagement and Learner engagement activities
• Proactive and self-motivated with a results-driven approach
• Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
• Knowledge of the specific industry or sector relevant to the organisation.
• Clearly demonstrate that they are capable of independent research
• Have a track record of postgraduate/team supervision.

THE ROLE

The ReSHAPE project is entering the next phase of its charter and applications are invited for the following position - ReSHAPE Software Engineer. ReSHAPE are seeking a skilled Software Developer specialising in web platform and app development with a strong foundation in database technologies, AI and machine learning to join our agile software development team. As a key contributor, you will be instrumental in crafting robust, smart and scalable applications that deliver seamless user experiences. The ReSHAPE Software Engineer will work directly with the ReSHAPE Operations Core Project Team and report directly to the ReSHAPE Programme Manager.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

• The design, development and deployment of the ReSHAPE Platform - work closely with the MTU Software Engineer to design, develop and deploy the ReSHAPE Platform
• Working with the ReSHAPE Project and Programme managers to establish objectives for the ReSHAPE Platform
• Engage with the development team, management, and stakeholders to develop the architecture of the ReShape platform system.
• Lead ReSHAPE App/ Platform Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software applications.
• Prototype, develop ML/AI models, prototype use-cases, evaluate performance and integrate into the ReShape platform.
• Develop a database schema suitable for sensitive data and parameters generated by ML/AI models, focusing on scalability, optimization, and security.
• Implement best practices in terms of security, deployment and maintenance.
• Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, etc. Engage with product owners and stakeholders to refine user stories and acceptance criteria
