Description:
WE ARE NOW LOOKING FOR A VISIONARY RESEARCH TEAM LEADER FOR THE METALS AND MATERIALS RECOVERY TEAM IN ESPOO.
In this position, you will head one of the leading European teams focused on metals recovery. You play a key role in influencing the team’s research vision and developing solutions for the requirements of the green transition, renewable energy, and vehicle electrification.
The Metals and Materials Recovery team focuses especially on metals recovery from various primary and recycled material streams using hydrometallurgical and mechanical processes. The developed technologies include leaching, precipitation, solvent extraction, ion exchange and biohydrometallurgy. In addition, the team offers knowledge on geomicrobiology, waste characterization and safe disposal.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Combination of academic education and practical work experience in relevant field with 5+ years of experience and responsibilities in different projects.
- Proven research skills with a strong track record in driving excellence and impact in research. You have a Master of Science degree in a relevant field or equivalent science experience. A doctoral degree is considered as an asset.
- Previous experience in industrial R&D and/or participation in multi-national R&D projects in international or European level is a benefit.
- As a leader, you want to create positive drive and get people excited by coaching and setting ambitious targets together with the team. Strong and proven interpersonal skills are essential in this position.
- Good communication skills and ability to build high value research collaboration in the area. You should have proficient in English skills (written and oral).
