Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated safety engineers who are looking to build on their existing experience and become part of our team providing expert safety support to our clients in the UK nuclear and other high hazard industries.
Whilst contractually located at CRA offices in Glasgow, the post holder must be prepared to undertake site visits of varying duration depending on the needs of each project.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree (or equivalent) in any of the following disciplines – Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.
  • Experience of providing safety assessment advice and supporting documentation, for a range of facilities and nuclear hazard types, in a fit for purpose, proportionate manner in line with client expectations and arrangements.
  • Fluent in English Language
  • The post holder should hold a current full driving licence and be eligible to apply for any security clearances deemed necessary by CRA clients.
  • An adaptable self-starter with good interpersonal skills and professional leadership approach
  • A good team-player with the confidence and ability to question traditional received wisdoms, think laterally and present alternatives.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of providing safety assessment advice and supporting documentation, for a range of facilities and nuclear hazard types, in a fit for purpose, proportionate manner in line with client expectations and arrangements.
  • Understanding of UK nuclear regulatory requirements particularly relating to Nuclear Safety Assessment
  • Experience of nuclear decommissioning, including NDA Sites
  • Experience of leading and managing teams
  • Experience in consultancy environment
