Description:
HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?
We are seeking a PhD candidate to undertake research in the area of cognitive networking for 5G/6G networks, with a focus area on connected and autonomous mobility.
This research will explore how artificial intelligence can be used to develop networks capable of self-learning and self-optimisation, adapting to real-time changes in traffic and demand. The successful candidate will contribute to designing solutions that optimise the interaction between network exposure and resource allocation.
In this context, your main focus will be to:
- Investigate network exposure mechanisms related to 5G core network functions and network slicing.
- Develop advanced AI/ML algorithms and data analytics techniques to automate and optimise exposure requests, adapted to available resources and real-time demand.
- Propose and implement innovative solutions to enable seamless operation in connected and autonomous mobility use cases.
- Validate research outcomes through a combination of high-fidelity simulations and collaboration on real-world test cases with industry stakeholders.
- Disseminate research findings through publications in leading conferences and top-tier journals.
This PhD position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with both academic researchers and industry experts, with a strong emphasis on real-world applications. Working alongside a mobile network operator, you will have the chance to contribute to the development of future 5G and 6G technologies, ensuring direct industrial impact from your research.
EDUCATION
Master’s degree (Bac+5) in telecommunications, computer science, or a related field, with an interest in AI, cognitive networks, or connected vehicles.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Prior experience with network automation, resource optimisation, or 5G/6G networks would be a plus.
An interest in developing AI-driven solutions for real-time, adaptive network environments.
