Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team based at our Morphettville Depot. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in the preparation of accounts, analysis, and monthly reporting, while partnering with the business to provide insights and support commercial initiatives. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities and requires someone who can work collaboratively across commercial and operations teams.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • CPA or CA qualifications in Accounting
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a multi-company group
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and broad accounting system knowledge and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and reporting deadlines
  • Focused on problem solving and able to develop practical and forward-thinking solutions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Experience with Government contracts (desirable)

Responsibilities:

  • Production of timely monthly financial accounts
  • Calculating and processing prepayments
  • Revenue and expense accruals and other monthly journals as required
  • Budgeting, balance sheet reconciliations, asset register maintenance, reviewing fuel reconciliations and usage, calculating fuel tax credits, reviewing and posting stocktake data
  • Preparation of BAS and FBT, completing ABS surveys and other ad hoc reporting, revenue and payroll analysis
  • Producing monthly commentary to key stakeholders
