Qualifications
- Work independently on complex projects
- Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant property and casualty actuarial experience.
- Broad knowledge of actuarial methods in property and casualty insurance
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Robust knowledge of Microsoft Office application

- Demonstrated analytical capabilities, including critical thinking with strong attention to detail.
- Practical knowledge of and experience with reinsurance.
- Excellent written communication skills along with the ability to present results of analysis to a non-technical audience at all levels of the organization, including executive level.
- Highly organized with demonstrated experience in solving problems.
- Demonstrated experience managing/leading projects and meeting project deliverables
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with catastrophe modelling and GIS tools.
- Understanding of data science and statistical tools
- Experience leading project teams, and/or developing junior analysts.
- Experience with multiple corporate structures and systems
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with underwriters and business leaders, use actuarial modeling tools and techniques to develop and maintain pricing models and economic projections for new and renewal portfolio in a variety of commercial and personal product lines such as property, liability, surety, warranty, and other products.
- Support underwriters in the evaluation of new lines of business including premium adequacy, reinsurance considerations, economic projections, and other elements of deal strategy and execution. Assess and quantify the impact of portfolios on the economics of Trisura overall.
- Develop and maintain KPI’s, dashboards, and other tools for the ongoing monitoring of the performance and risk of key portfolios including delegated underwriting and MGA portfolios.
- Performs independent rate indications of major business lines. Assess profitability of product segments and provide guidance to underwriting.
- Perform economic projections to support the business planning process.
- Provide input on the structure and pricing of new product features or changes to product features.
- Monitor exposure accumulations to find opportunities for profitable growth and risk control.
- Provide input on the reinsurance program strategy, including analyzing and optimizing the program structure. Work with the CRO and SVP of Reinsurance on the development of reinsurance projections and credit risk management processes, tools, and reporting
- Work with reinsurance brokers and the risk management team to execute and evaluate natural catastrophe modeling for individual portfolios and Trisura overall.
- Contribute to the ORSA, FCT and other economic capital and stress testing process including model development, testing, and report writing as needed.
- Perform other pricing, reserving, data analytics, or predictive modeling analyses as needed.
- Provide ongoing value-added analysis and recommendations to senior leadership under a complex business environment to meet key strategic business objectives. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including making and presenting recommendations to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
