WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Advisor in Learning Design to become a vital part of our dynamic Learning Design & Assurance Team at the RFS. As a registered training organisation (RTO), the RFS relies on our team to manage the learning and development (L&D) strategy and framework, design L&D programs and products, ensure compliance as an RTO, and uphold the highest standards in quality assurance and learning compliance. Our dedicated instructional education design team members operate in the NSW RFS State Training Academy in Dubbo, and our assurance team members operate in Headquarters in Sydney Olympic Park (RFS HQ).
The Senior Advisor Learning Design works with subject matter experts and training personnel across various business units, in reviewing and developing training and assessment products. The products are designed collaboratively to ensure trainers and assessors have resources to deliver high-quality learning and development programs. In this position, it’s essential to develop materials that meet consistent standards, ensuring that members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively.

TO THRIVE IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Extensive knowledge of adult learning theories
  • An understanding of training and assessment regulatory requirements for Registered Training Organisations
  • Existing experience in the delivery and/or design of training and assessment in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • An understanding or previous experience of L&D within an emergency services agency (highly regarded but not essential)
