KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Extensive knowledge of transit and rail project management.
- Strong understanding of design and construction processes specific to the rail industry.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills to convey project goals, progress, and challenges to stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects within schedule and budget constraints.
- Thorough understanding of industry regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) for effective planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Ability to represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 20 years (min.) experience in general civil engineering design including a mix of roadway, drainage, earthwork, H&H, developing construction plans, specifications and estimates
- Experience working with multiple disciplines within a project scope
- Experience in field engineering and/or Design Support During Construction
- Proficient is technical writing specifically specifications in multiple formats
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- Ability to manage budget, schedule, resources, client needs, and perform design work as necessary to meet project needs
- High level of proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Proficient in site grading, utility and drainage design
- Proficient in street improvement design and public works design
- Experience in site development
- Experience developing and leading design teams and mentoring junior engineers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Client relations
- Experience in proposal writing
- Experience in business development and marketing business services
- PE license in California or ability to obtain license by comity
- Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will oversee the successful delivery of transit and rail engineering projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and according to specified requirements. This role requires a deep understanding of current engineering principles and practices relevant to various aspects affecting the organization. The Project Manager will manage the entire project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction and final delivery. Acting as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies, the Project Manager will ensure all project objectives are met while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance with industry regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.
- Coordinate efforts across teams to achieve project goals.
- Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to provide project updates, address concerns, and facilitate decision-making.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules to ensure timely task completion.
- Address any delays promptly to keep the project on track.
- Manage project budgets by tracking expenditures and ensuring financial constraints are met.
- Document and manage scope changes, ensuring proper authorization and clear communication.
- Ensure all work adheres to safety and quality standards.
- Comply with relevant regulatory requirements throughout the project.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs.
