The Trading and Supply team trades crude oil, natural gas, LNG, electricity, refined products, chemical feedstocks and environmental products, and contributes to building a successful portfolio that looks to generate value through a combination of customer flow, supply arrangements, product development, speculative trading and risk management.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

The successful candidate will have the following Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Extensive experience in energy trading, specifically within the National Electricity Markets.
  • Proven track record of managing large actively managed financial markets portfolios and achieving financial targets.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to execute complex trades.
  • Excellent risk management capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective trading strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Leadership and mentorship abilities.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Energy Trader is responsible for managing a large trading portfolio within Australian electricity and certificate markets. This role primarily involves developing and executing trading strategies ensuring profitable outcomes within risk limits. The Senior Energy Trader will also mentor and develop emerging trading talent, manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Major responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Oversee and actively manage a significant financial trading portfolio in the Australian Power and Renewables markets.
  • Trade financial electricity products, navigating market complexities.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of portfolio positions.
  • Ensure all trading activities comply with regulatory standards, internal policies, and market rules.
