Job Description
Role Overview: As the Senior Governance Monitoring Engineer at Matarat, you play a critical role in our PMO consultancy team. You are responsible for ensuring that all Operating Companies (OpCos) adhere to established project governance manuals, processes, and procedures. This role involves conducting rigorous reviews and monitoring the implementation of governance standards across various projects, providing vital feedback and reporting on compliance to enhance overall project execution and alignment with strategic objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Professional Certification: Six Sigma Black Belt training and certification is highly desirable, or candidate should be in the process of acquiring it. Ability to lead Six Sigma projects, train, and coach other personnel.
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 10+ years of overall experience with at least 3 years focused on governance or compliance roles in large-scale projects. Demonstrated proficiency with statistical, process management, and flow charting or process mapping software.
  • Industry Expertise: Strong background in Continuous Improvement and work processes, with substantial experience in engineering, procurement, or construction within the infrastructure industry.
  • Cultural and Regional Understanding: Experience and understanding of project management within KSA, with a deep cultural understanding of the region.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent command of English in both written and verbal forms. Must possess outstanding presentational skills.
  • International Experience: Prior international work experience, especially within KSA, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Governance Implementation Review: Perform detailed assessments of governance implementation across projects, ensuring strict adherence to the Matarat Governance Manuals.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor project executions for compliance with the prescribed governance frameworks and prepare detailed reports outlining adherence levels, identifying areas of non-compliance, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Process Optimization: Evaluate current governance practices and procedures used by OpCos, identifying areas for improvement to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to enhance understanding and implementation of governance requirements. Act as a governance liaison to facilitate clear communication and adherence to governance standards.
  • Training and Development: Lead training sessions and workshops to educate OpCo personnel on governance standards, emphasizing the importance of compliance and the roles of various stakeholders in maintaining governance integrity.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply Continuous Improvement methodologies to enhance governance frameworks and manage changes effectively within the project governance structure.
