Description:

We are currently seeking to hire a highly motivated and dedicated
Senior Group IT and R&D Controller
Full-time and permanent
into our Global Business Controlling team based at either our Headquarters in Hamburg, Germany or in Abingdon, UK. This is a key position within our Group Business Controlling organization, reporting to the VP Business Controlling. The position is responsible for helping to establish and then manage the ongoing operation of our Information Technology (IT) and Research & Development (R&D) capitalization activities.
This is open to applicants willing to work from Hamburg, Germany, or Abingdon, UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive, along with Technical Accounting and the IT and R&D Organizations, the implementation of a comprehensive process to support the ongoing capitalization of IT and R&D development expense
  • Ensure proper documentation exists through the process life cycle
  • Ensure that all amounts are appropriately calculated and compliant with IAS 38
  • As needed, partner with external expertise to drive capitalization analysis
  • Own and execute key SOX controls within the capitalization process
  • Provide KPI reporting to Global FP&A
  • Support Global FP&A in the budgeting and strategic planning processes
  • Work with Group Accounting during the Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly closing process

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
  • Professional working experience in a similar role, ideally within life sciences / pharmaceutical sector, and/or within a public/global company, Big 4 experience a plus
  • Experience of working in an international environment
  • Experience in a Group Business Controlling Environment
  • Strong IFRS knowledge, specifically regarding IAS 38
  • Experience with PCAOB and Sarbanes Oxley a plus
  • Business fluent in English, German a plus, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
