Responsibilities:

OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

The role of the Senior IT Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors, consultants, and partners in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. This role is based in the Republic of Ireland and is not a remote role. Our IT Team are based in our UPMC Ireland Global Technology Operations Centre in Kilkenny.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communication-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including summaries, presentations, and executive reports.
  • Client Relationships-Understands project objectives, and business value, from the user’s point of view. Is customer focused. Builds trusted relationships with users.
  • Project Planning and Management-Experienced in planning and managing project scope, schedules, resources, budget, issues, and risks. Understands need and value of attention to detail. Proactively identifies and addresses project risks. Utilizes change management to control scope and communicate scope changes. Tracks and reports project progress and forecast trends.
  • Team Leadership/Development Ability to organize, manage, and lead the project team to success. Supports project team members and colleagues. Builds strong relationships with colleagues and IT partners. Skilfully handles situations and creates positive outcomes. Demonstrates self-awareness. Provides mentoring and support to others in areas of expertise.
  • Relevant Technical/Business Knowledge-Experience in a similar technical/industry. Demonstrates financial awareness. Working knowledge of analytical and problem-solving techniques and tools.
  • Process Oriented-Utilizes organizational and PMO processes and standards to provide consistent and excellent project management services. Understands, the need and value to continually define and/or improve processes
