Description:
As a senior legal affairs advisor, you help protect the organization’s legal interests by ensuring it complies with all laws. You also play a key role in making sure that the organization’s rights are protected, and obligations are met. You represent the organization in situations involving its legal interests. You will work with the various units responsible for procurement, and digital and technological development at Desjardins Group. More specifically, you provide legal support to the procurement, technological and digital development teams during the acquisition or deployment of products and services within Desjardins Group components. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Issue legal opinions, and draft and validate business agreements that have an impact on the organization
- Analyze, interpret and monitor changes to the applicable legislation and regulations
- Participate in representing the organization or negotiating with various external organizations or partners
- Coordinate the mandates entrusted to outside attorneys
- Help draft files for the organization’s decision-making bodies

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor’s degree in law
- A minimum of six years of relevant experience, including two years in the field of information technology
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Member of the Quebec Bar
- Knowledge of French is required
- Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
