Description:

Verus Research is searching for a Senior Program Manager to lead and manage high-profile research and development projects within our Space and Autonomy portfolio for the Department of Defense (DoD).
The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day program needs for space satellite and/or sensor systems, as well as working closely with the technical team. The Senior Program Manager will work as part of a larger team with customers, external partners, vendors, scientists, developers, engineers, managers, technicians, and support personnel. The ideal candidate will have experience managing space system development. The position requires working with tech-savvy customers, identifying their requirements, generating technical reports, formulating execution strategies, and working with diverse internal technical teams to ensure successful program outcomes on time and on budget. The Senior Program Manager will also work closely with our senior staff in identifying and pursuing additional growth areas.

Responsibilities:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Active Top Secret SCI clearance
  • Masters degree in business, Engineering or other technical fields
  • 10+ years program management experience related to Department of Defense and major space systems/programs
  • PMP certification, equivalent to DAWIA Level 3 PM Certification, or demonstration of continued education
  • Experience:
  • leading projects during all stages of the project lifecycle, from concept formulation through design, development, integration, testing, and delivery to meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements
  • with project management tools for management of requirements, scope, schedule and cost, risk, and quality
  • managing external collaborators, including vendors and subcontractors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in developing briefings for senior and executive level management and customers
  • Ability to facilitate or lead others in facilitating negotiations involving major project parameters such as deliverable definition and performance objectives (e.g., cost, schedule, quality
