The Senior Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing and procuring medicine worldwide to meet customer demand.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for receiving RFQs/RFPs from Business Development/ Account Specialist and sourcing the required products.
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure we secure products at the most competitive price.
- Research, identify and engage with potential new suppliers to broaden WEPs sourcing network.
- Generate PO’s and coordinating shipments.
- Responsible for sourcing and procuring medicines worldwide to meet customer demands.
- Source and purchase products for Clinical Trial Supply and R&D supply
- Source and purchase products for local and international hospitals and Advocacy Request.
- Work closely with the R&D/Clinical Trial Supply group to support the service and Wren Healthcare.
- Work with both MHRA and HPRA (on getting approval for new projects/products to be used in the UK and Ireland) and with the Home Office (HO) on obtaining import and export CD licenses.
- Support the Project Management team in setting up new projects, suppliers, and products in the system.
- Work and liaise with the MHRA and HPRA to get approval for each product/project before bringing it to the UK or Ireland.
- Support the EAP and PA-NPP management team and provide guidance.
- Support the Quality Assurance team to current GMP/GDP guidelines & on updating SOPs as and when required or when there is a change and on setting up new suppliers.
- Support the Logistics team in liaising with shipments (collections and dispatched), customs clearing, purchase order status, and stock transfer between warehouses.
- Support Accounts/Finance on supplier invoices and statements and related matters.
- Support and manage queries and other matters that may arise in day-to-day operations.
- Support the UK and Ireland Warehouse activity, including setting up new products and suppliers, creating purchase orders, etc.
- Support the WEP R&D/Clinical Trial Supply and Wren Healthcare service line as needed.
- Maintaining world-class customer service and fulfilment of orders on a timely basis.
- Work to current GMP/GDP guidelines and within the company Quality Management System
- Effectively manage the supply chain by regularly reviewing capacity and capability vs forecast demand.
