Description:

SUMMARY

The Scott Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a driven, detail oriented, Senior Research Administration Associate to lead grant management efforts in support of the department’s growing research mission. This position will lead all pre and post award activities, focusing on funding opportunities and financial reporting.
Employees with CRA certification are eligible for certification pay.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eligible for Certified Research Administrator Certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC)
  • Experience with SAP, Brain, effort reporting systems
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities:

  • Provide grant program expertise, financial expertise, and guidance related to sponsored research to leaders and faculty.
  • Review and approve grant applications, certifying summary data in the College’s electronic Biomedical Research and Assurance Information Network (BRAIN) on behalf of the department.
  • Contribute and lead the development and continuous improvement of the pre-award and post award grants management process.
  • Review and analyze current protocols, faculty-staff communication, and quality of the submission process. Make recommendations for process revisions and lead implementation of changes as appropriate.
  • Consult with faculty regarding funding opportunities, eligibility, and application requirements for sponsored funding.
  • Contribute to the preparation of budget for grant quarterly/biannual/annual reporting purposes. -Prepare grants and subcontracts submissions internally (BRAIN) and externally (Sponsor sites).
  • Serve as grants liaison between faculty, Baylor College of Medicine, national and international institutions, and/or federal/private funding agencies.
  • Provide administrative support for research faculty recruitment efforts, communicating with senior research faculty recruits regarding contractual requests, grant funding and budget, space and additional resource requests.
  • Manage effort reporting within college tracking systems (PEPT, ERS) and make changes as needed for research faculty and staff.
  • Analyze and monitor research project timelines, communicate with PIs on deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Advise departmental leadership on research mission growth opportunities and future staffing needs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
