We are looking for a Senior Scientist to join our Weather Research and Technology unit at Vaisala headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. Join us in advancing weather radar solutions with a team of world-class experts.

Responsibilities:
You will be part of our Research and Technology team of experts, that work on both applied technology research projects as well as product development, covering a broad variety of environmental measurement technologies. In this role you will be focusing on advancing weather radar technology through algorithm development and research. You will report to Science Team Lead.
As a senior weather radar substance matter expert, your responsibilities include:
- Take holistic responsibility for key weather radar-related algorithm development. This can range from applied research of innovative novel algorithms, to ensuring accuracy and performance aspects, to contributing in that solutions get properly implemented in end products in a release program type of setup.
- Following external development in academy and industry technology fields. Working closely with product development and product management colleagues, providing expert input towards our technology roadmaps and business strategy.
- Working both at radar signal processor level, as well as radar application level.
- Approach topics holistically and from the end user perspective; being able to understand various weather radar technologies, hardware, software, and see how different choices in the measurement chain are visible to the customer.
