JOB DESCRIPTION

In the CD&D department in Eppelheim/Heidelberg

Your role

  • You are responsible for performing category and competitive sensory mapping
  • You collaborate closely with the Consumer Insights Marketing team to deliver consumer-driven sensory data to customers and support key projects
  • You conduct sensory-guided analysis of benchmarking activities, including quantitative descriptive analysis (QDA)
  • You train and educate sensory panels, both internal and external
  • You manage the planning, organization, execution, and evaluation of sensory tests using Compusense, covering differentiation, discrimination, preference, acceptance, and product positioning analysis
  • You create sensory test designs and methodologies
  • You execute statistical analysis of all sensory data, along with reporting and communication across multiple business functions
  • You assist with quality issues, including complaints, raw material evaluations, and product stability validation (PET proof)
  • You provide support to the Flavor Creation and Science & Technology teams on sensory validation regarding taste, texture, and modulation
  • You enhance Sales and Product Development activities with sensory expertise and participate in customer visits
  • You prepare and present workshops and/or presentations in the field of sensory science for both customers and internal teams
  • You support the Portfolio Manager in preparing products for sensory evaluation and references for flavor language training
  • You document and report sensory data to maintain portfolio records

Your profile

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Sensory Science or related fields in Food Science and Technology with extensive sensory experience
  • You have professional experience in the flavor industry
  • You possess strong statistical analysis skills and are proficient in common PC programs (MS Office package, Outlook, SAP
  • You demonstrate excellent written and spoken English skills; German language proficiency is an advantage
  • You have a deep understanding of sensory analytical tools, including Compusense and XL
  • You exhibit high initiative, independence, flexibility, team spirit, and conscientiousness
  • You have an innovative mindset, show passion and interest in food and beverage market trends and are a reliable team player
  • You are able to build sensory capabilities from scratch, possess well-developed communication skills, capable of engaging at all levels, along with strong presentation skills
