Description:

Harbor Health looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer - Insurance Team to become a member of our team! Harbor Health is an entirely new multi-specialty clinic group in Austin, TX utilizing a modern approach to co-create health with those who get, give, and pay for it, allowing everyone to fully flourish. Our Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Write clean, maintainable code and conduct code reviews to ensure best practices and high-quality code
  • Design and develop scalable web applications with both front-end and back-end components
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product managers, designers, DevOps) to define and ship new features
  • Maintain and improve existing systems, ensuring performance, scalability, and security
  • Write and maintain technical documentation for code and systems
  • Test and debug applications to ensure optimal performance and user experience
  • Contribute to architectural decisions to ensure system reliability and scalability
  • Accountable for participating in and providing support for production environments
  • Build and maintain integrations with third party vendors

Successful Senior Software Engineers will have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in software development / data engineering
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Javascript/Typescript, or similar
  • Proficiency in designing, managing, and optimizing relational database systems
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering greenfield projects from concept to deployment
  • Ability to act as a team player
  • Ability to manage outside vendor relationship
  • Have the ability to partner in the development, management and operationalizing processes and workflows to maximize efficiencies
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or relevant job experience
  • This is a remote role.

Additional Skills & Experiences Preferred include:

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare EDI transactions
  • Experience implementing and operating delegated TPA, UM, UR, credentialing and related functions
  • Experience developing and administering value-based payment arrangements is a plus

Physical Requirements of the role include:

  • Up to 25% Travel
